Industry Sector will Meet Personally – for Sure!

Live and totally real: exhibitors and expert visitors from the industrial automation sector are looking forward to the Motek/Bondexpo trade fair from 5 to 8 October 2021 live in Stuttgart. Preparation is running at full bore for the traditional, time-tested trade fair duo.

The 39th Motek international trade fair for automation in production and assembly and the 14th Bondexpo international trade fair for bonding technology will be held as an on-site event from the 5th through the 8th of October, 2021. “Our exhibitors and expert visitors will be able to exchange ideas and experience – live, in person and totally real,” exclaims Bettina Schall, managing director of trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG. “This is what the industry has been waiting for! I think it’s very important for Motek to be implemented as a face-to-face event,” agrees Jürgen Noailles, managing director of Stein Automation GmbH in Villingen-Schwenningen and member of the board of the VDMA’s Integrated Assembly Solutions department. “It’s important to provide customers with confidence and security in the capital goods industry. This is made possible by means of a personal exchange of ideas and experience, for example at Motek.” Anita Renc, chief sales officer at Afag Engineering GmbH, is also preparing herself and her company for the live trade fair. “Motek isn’t just a traditional trade fair, it also reflects current technologies and developments in the field of automation. It’s important to be there and to rekindle the all-important dialogue with customers and partners − in the spirit of Europe as a business location as well.”

3D Printing and Emerging Companies as Special Topics

The trade fair promoters are focusing attention on new technologies and their practical implementation in modern, everyday industrial production with special shows covering new topics. For example, the “Arena of Integration” (AoI) at its central location in hall 1 will render business processes mapped by software vividly visible and tangible through the use of showcases. The AoI shows how software and assembly technology are networked, and illustrates the key role being played by this networking function in the digitalisation of manufacturing and assembly. Expert visitors are thus supported and inspired for the implementation of digitalisation at their own companies.

The special area for 3D printing in hall 1 will also be a thematic highlight, where suppliers of 3D printers for industrial use, material suppliers for 3D printing and job shops for 3D printed parts and assemblies will present their solutions and services. In particular industry sectors which produce small series or special components benefit from this technology. Amongst others these can include replacement parts, fixtures, retainers and housings. Products made by means of additive manufacturing have long since arrived in everyday industrial life, but the range of new possibilities is virtually endless: total freedom in engineering, unrestricted product design, bionic structures, undercuts, overhangs and lightweight structures. Highlights will be exhibited at Motek, and not only will the design engineers be pleased!

Last but not least, the startup area in hall 1 will also serve as a visitor magnet. Motek/Bondexpo explicitly wants to provide young companies with a platform for presenting their innovative automation ideas at this special area. The goal is to generate implementable solutions for everyday industrial use based on product concepts and new product presentations.

Hygiene Concept Ready to Go

Together with the complementary, fully integrated Bondexpo trade fair, Motek is one of the most important events for production and assembly automation, as well as for joining and bonding technology, because as the leading trade fair for the world of automation it presents an appropriate, up-to-date portfolio of products and services including components, assemblies, subsystems and complete systems, as well as robotics. “Challenges such as efficiency, sustainability, cost pressure, the shortage of skilled personnel and increasing product individualisation have become more acute,” notes Bettina Schall. “This is why it’s so important for companies in the field of industrial production and automation to exchange technical information and to discuss new solutions and investment projects in concrete terms now. Motek/Bondexpo will provide them with the right setting in its familiar and proven manner – for sure!” Schall trade fair promoters are fully aligning themselves to the hygiene concept adopted by the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre, which has been extensively coordinated with the responsible authorities and implemented on the basis of the generally valid Corona Ordinance of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
