Future Viability Equates to Flexibility!

Bondexpo Internationale Fachmesse für Klebtechnologie Hiwin Maeurer
HIWIN Managing Director Werner Mäurer

HIWIN is a manufacturer of motion systems for automated industrial production and is one of Motek/Bondexpo’s traditional exhibitors. Once again in 2026, the company will be on hand to showcase compact, high-performance electric cylinders for assembly automation. In an interview with Schall trade fair promoters, HIWIN’s managing director Werner Mäurer emphasised the trade fair’s importance for the company, because it attracts the right target group.

Schall: As of 2026, the Motek/Bondexpo trade fair duo will switch to a new cycle as a 3-day event held once every two years. To what extent does this re-orientation provide your company with added value and benefits?
Mäurer: The change to a biennial cycle is appropriate, and thus Motek remains an important trade fair for HIWIN as an exhibitor.

Schall: With its portfolio of topics covering the entire process chain, Motek/Bondexpo presents practical solutions for sustainable automation in industrial manufacturing. In which capacity are you represented here with your company, and how do you approach your target group?
Mäurer: Our motion systems automate industrial manufacturing and our target group is well-represented at Motek.

Schall: Which challenges and trends in the manufacturing industry do you currently see as decisive for the future?
Mäurer: The manufacturing industry is certainly well-positioned to keep up with current technological trends. More than anything else, the challenges faced by the manufacturing industry are political in nature. If we imagine that manufacturing is dirty, dangerous and outdated, we discard the very foundation of our prosperity. A country with very limited natural resources cannot survive alone by providing services.

Schall: In your opinion, what do industrial manufacturing companies need in order to remain economically viable and sustainable in future markets?
Mäurer: Sustainability is all about flexibility and streamlining. Bureaucratic legislative monsters are never lean. It’s not enough to celebrate the abolition of registration forms in hotels, which we hope will be frequented by large numbers of domestic trade fair visitors.

Schall: Can you give us a preview of any trade fair highlights with which you’ll be attracting attention at Motek/Bondexpo 2026?
Mäurer: Our new electric cylinders will be the major highlight at Motek 2026 … compact and universal with maximum performance density: the key component for automated assembly.

Schall: Thank you.
